Description: The Old Growth Management Area (OGMA) dataset provides a spatial representation of provincial OGMA in northeast BC. The dataset reports percentage disturbance at the OGMA level and identifies those areas that exceed the designated managed development allowance as High-Risk Status. This information supports consideration of OGMA in decision making under the Environmental Protection and Management Regulation. Field validation of this data is encouraged in development planning. The OGMA Annual Status dataset was initially developed by the BC Energy Regulator for consideration of Managed Development Allowance across OGMA in Northeast BC. Data was derived from the provincial Old Growth Management Areas dataset. Disturbance is estimated using the BCER Surface Land Use data that is updated annually.
